My 52 year old manager making me cry at work.

You’re different, you know

What do you mean?

The questions you ask. The way you interact with people. Your brain is on a whole other level.

I admit that the questions I ask are different but it allows me to have them answer the questions I have about without asking them direct personal questions. Their tone, body language, and words they use answer my curiosity haha

But that’s the thing about you. You ask specific questions to get to know people, questions that they have no problem answering, you listen, and by some weird trick you have they end up answering the one personal deep question you had all along. You pick up on stuff like that. You’re much smarter than what people give you credit for.

Uh thanks? I haven’t ever had someone tell me that ha

Can I ask you a personal question?

Sure

Why don’t you think you’re attractive?

Uh what

You don’t think you’re attractive. It’s fairly obvious with how you talk about other people compared to you and the guys you go after. You’re confident in your looks but you don’t think that men find you attractive which is the weirdest thing I’ve come across. Because you’re gorgeous. And I don’t think you’ve really grasped that and I don’t think you will for a long time. Your skin tone, eyes, and smile are amazing. Your positivity, energy, and kindness radiate from you. And I may be 52 but I can honestly say that you’re THE most emotionally intelligent and mature person I have met and you’re 20 years old. That’s saying something, Michaela. You need to have a little more faith in yourself. You’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re motivated, and you WILL find somebody one day. I have no doubt. But in the meantime, learn to love yourself a bit more ok?

And then I started crying. At work.

How lovely

The ‘yes or no’ game.

You can ask me anything and I’ll answer honestly, but only with yes and no.
